Fjord Retreat is rooted in a traditional Norwegian farm, established in the 1600s in Indre Alsåker. For generations, our family has lived from the land—raising animals, producing milk, growing fruit & vegetables, fishing, harvesting firewood and Christmas trees. Each generation added its own touch, and today we continue that legacy by opening our farm to guests.

We created Fjord Retreat to offer a relaxing and energising stay between fjords and mountains, where nature sets the rhythm and every visit becomes a memorable experience.

Our accommodations include a fjord-side cabin, a historic 1800s farmhouse, and two rustic mountain cabins—all with panoramic views across the Hardangerfjord and surrounding mountains.

Here guests can immerse themselves in calming nature, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and feel renewed by the fresh air, fjords, forest, and mountain landscape. Every moment is framed by the beauty of Hardanger, inviting rest, mindfulness, and gentle energy.
